Fadua's misfortune

Fadua Larui was only 20 years old when she decided to burn herself in Suk Sebt, centre of Morocco. She was fifteen when she was raped for the first time and became Reda. The fruit of another rape, Aya, was born in as Fadua was 20. Fadua was very poor, as all her family. They lived in a shantytown in Suk Sebt until the local government decided to apply a new national program to clean the villages of such neighbourhoods. Every family became a piece of land to build a new house, every family but Fadua's. She and her two kids were not considered a family due to her lack of husband. Fadua is just another example of the discrimination against single mothers in Morocco. Fadua burned herself to protest against her situation in front of the government building of her village and let two children, Reda and Aya. Now her mother, Fatna, must take care of both of them and try to support her big family with a sick husband. They live in a house without roof. Nobody has a job and as Fadua did, they live off begging.
